Incendio - Wildfires ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app or visit its website.

Information the App Processes

The Incendio app does not collect personal data. With your permission, it processes your current location on your device to show nearby reported wildfires and calculate distance. Your location is not transmitted to Incendio servers.

Data the App Does Not Collect

Public Incident Data

Your device connects to the National Interagency Fire Center's public WFIGS/IRWIN services to retrieve current reported wildfire information. Incendio excludes prescribed burns from its default public feed. Incident reports can be incomplete, delayed, or changed by reporting agencies.

Website

The Incendio website does not require an account or collect information through forms. Standard server logs may temporarily contain technical request details needed to operate and secure the website.

The website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages are visited and which sites refer visitors. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives your truncated IP address, browser, and device type. This measurement applies only to the website. The Incendio app contains no analytics or tracking of any kind, and nothing described here applies to it. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies for this site.

Local Storage

Feed preferences and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain user profiles or store app preferences on external servers.

Children's Privacy

Incendio does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for a general audience and requires no account.

Safety

Incendio is an informational viewer, not an emergency notification, evacuation, prediction, or official incident-command service. For immediate threats and evacuation information, follow local emergency officials.
